Thank you Mr. Iwata
This is my tribute picture for the president of Nintendo of Japan Mr. Satoru Iwata, this time as a pixel animation because it seemed more fitting :)
I guess there's no denial that a whole generation of young minds has been molded by the work and ideals of people like Mr. Iwata, the now called gamer community. Whether you like Nintendo or not, every gamer should know how to appreciate the dedication, the work and the creativity of people trying to make the world a better place, by teaching us to enjoy ourselves, how to come together instead of hating each other, and how to have a lots of fun in the process.
From my perspective, death shouldn't be just about grief and sorrow. It should also be a celebration about a person's life and accomplishments, remembering how much that person shared with us during that brief moment. I bet he'll be as thankful as we are, just for sharing those precious moments with us.
Here's an extract of Mr. Iwata's life:
During high school, he says he was probably one of the original adopters of the new Hewlett Packard Pocket Calculator. While others used it for complex mathematics, Iwata used it to program games, and excitedly show them to his friends. The first he made was a baseball game – all represented in numbers, of course. When he saw his friends enjoying that game, he said: "…it made me feel proud. To me, this was a source of energy and passion. As that passion for games began to blossom, I think my life course was set".

In addition, I recently found myself wondering what a video game is supposed to be. Is it about the realistic graphics or is it about the simplicity of a game like Tetris? I just kept wondering and wondering, until I found a quote of his, shared with the news:
"Video games are meant to be just one thing: Fun. Fun for everyone". - Satoru Iwata
