(2007) Parque Cuscatlán

Painting of Cuscatlán Park in 2007, San Salvador city, El Salvador. Made with oil pastels, 15x10 inches.

Here are a couple of pictures of the real park for reference:

The date behind the painting reads "Parque Cuscatlán - May 9th, 2007". At this point, I was already really careful when it came to write the original date in all my drawings.

The people depicted in the painting where part of my group, and like me, they were also drawing another sections of the park. Based on their position, you can easily have an idea of how I was sitting while I was drawing this scene.

One of the most memorable things for me about this painting is that, while I was making it, I had a massive deja vú, one of the strongest I've ever had so far. Granted this is not an uncommon occurrence for me, but at that particular moment, I was almost able to tell word by word what the people around where going to say for about a minute or so... it was really weird.
